Yes, our boats are designed differently than most. They have an 8.5-foot-wide beam and 32-inch diameter pontoons, which provide excellent stability. Lake Tahoe is also a very large lake and typically doesn’t have large waves. Since our pontoons are open and spacious, passengers can easily see their surroundings, which can help reduce motion sickness. Lastly, our experienced captains are skilled at navigating around choppy areas and handling waves smoothly.

 We appreciate boating experience, but our Marina contract requires that a US Coast Guard-certified captain must be at the helm. Additionally, Lake Tahoe waters can be tricky at times, and our experienced captains will not only get you to your destination safely and efficiently but will also ensure you have the best possible experience on the lake.

Yes, you can stop and jump off the boat just about anywhere on the lake! The only things our captain will be monitoring are other boat traffic and water conditions—such as large waves—that might make it unsafe to stop at certain spots.

Yes, you can get a full refund if you cancel. If you cancel within 72 hours of your reservation, you’ll receive 50% of your payment back. However, we’re happy to reschedule you for a future date, even if it’s a couple of years down the line! 

As dog lovers, the owners of Lake Tahoe Pontoons welcome dogs aboard the 2021 Bennington. However, dogs are not permitted on the new 2025 Bennington.

Yes, you can get across the lake. However, unless you’ve rented the boat for more than five hours, we don’t recommend it as the best way to experience Lake Tahoe. Our premium 250 HP engines can get you across in about 35 minutes, but some of the most beautiful spots on the lake are just 15 minutes away from your departure point. We recommend taking your time to explore the stunning scenery nearby! of where you pick up your boat..

We’re proud to offer our brand new M Series Bennington, alongside a 2021 Bennington that features upholstery replaced just two years ago. Both boats receive regular, professional engine maintenance with top-quality parts to ensure a smooth and safe experience on the water.memories!

 There is no restroom on board, but Lake Tahoe Pontoons offers a small porta potty for an additional $100. We also recommend renting a privacy screen for $40. If that’s outside your budget, there are conveniently located restrooms around Lake Tahoe that are easy to access.

Some like it slow. Others want speed. We have speed, guaranteed! 200 and 250 HP pontoons along with large 32” pontoons gets you up to 30 mph or more. Realistically with a load of guests we can travel 26 mph consistently.
