Are Captain's fees paid directly to Captain or Lake Tahoe Pontoons??
Captain’s fees are paid directly to our captains. They accept cash, Zelle, or Venmo for your convenience.
Are there any hidden fees? Can I save money reserving directly?
We believe everyone should experience the beauty of Lake Tahoe without breaking the bank. When you reserve by clicking the ‘Guarantee Your Spot’ button, you’ll only incur a small 3% processing fee through Converge (no fees with a debit card). How many hours are recommended by customers?
The four-hour rental is our most popular option, followed by the three-hour rental. We also offer two-hour and eight-hour rentals to fit your needs. No matter the duration, Lake Tahoe Pontoons guarantees 100% satisfaction for your experience.
I’m prone to seasickness—are your boats more stable or designed to minimize motion?
Yes, our boats are designed differently than most. They have an 8.5-foot-wide beam and 32-inch diameter pontoons, which provide excellent stability. Lake Tahoe is also a very large lake and typically doesn’t have large waves. Since our pontoons are open and spacious, passengers can easily see their surroundings, which can help reduce motion sickness. Lastly, our experienced captains are skilled at navigating around choppy areas and handling waves smoothly.
Can I drive the pontoon? I'm a very experienced boater.
We appreciate boating experience, but our Marina contract requires that a US Coast Guard-certified captain must be at the helm. Additionally, Lake Tahoe waters can be tricky at times, and our experienced captains will not only get you to your destination safely and efficiently but will also ensure you have the best possible experience on the lake.
Can we stop and jump off of the boat anytime we like?
Yes, you can stop and jump off the boat just about anywhere on the lake! The only things our captain will be monitoring are other boat traffic and water conditions—such as large waves—that might make it unsafe to stop at certain spots.

If I cancel, will I get my money back?
Yes, you can get a full refund if you cancel. If you cancel within 72 hours of your reservation, you’ll receive 50% of your payment back. However, we’re happy to reschedule you for a future date, even if it’s a couple of years down the line!
Are dogs allowed?

As dog lovers, the owners of Lake Tahoe Pontoons welcome dogs aboard the 2021 Bennington. However, dogs are not permitted on the new 2025 Bennington.
Can we go all the way across Lake Tahoe?
Yes, you can get across the lake. However, unless you’ve rented the boat for more than five hours, we don’t recommend it as the best way to experience Lake Tahoe. Our premium 250 HP engines can get you across in about 35 minutes, but some of the most beautiful spots on the lake are just 15 minutes away from your departure point. There is no restroom on board, but Lake Tahoe Pontoons offers a small porta potty for an additional $100. We also recommend renting a privacy screen for $40. If that’s outside your budget, there are conveniently located restrooms around Lake Tahoe that are easy to access.
